{"id":980,"date":"2018-04-28T18:50:19","date_gmt":"2018-04-28T18:50:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.margiesrecipes.com\/?p=980"},"modified":"2018-04-28T18:51:24","modified_gmt":"2018-04-28T18:51:24","slug":"green-bell-peppers-stuffed-with-ground-beef-and-cheese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.margiesrecipes.com\/?p=980","title":{"rendered":"Green Bell Peppers Stuffed with Ground Beef and Cheese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">6 large green peppers;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">1 pound of ground beef;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">1\/2 cup of chopped onions;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">1 (16 ounce) can of diced tomatoes;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00bd cup of long grain rice (any available rice is fine, but it may affect the cooking time);<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">1 cup of water;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">1 teaspoon of salt;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce; and,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, (about 4 ounces).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Directions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Cut off the tops of the green peppers and discard the seeds and membranes;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Chop enough of the pepper tops to make 1\/4 cup and set aside. Cook the whole green peppers, uncovered in boiling water for about five minutes, invert to drain well.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Sprinkle insides of the peppers lightly with salt;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">In a skillet cook ground beef, onion and a 1\/4 cup of chopped pepper (from step 2) till meat is brown and the vegetables are tender; Drain off excess fat.
